What is Creativity?

I ask Vulcan Spock what creativity is, and he answers; Creativity describes the ability of an individual or a group to think and act in imaginative, creative, and associative ways to make a meaningful contribution to problem solving. The answer does not really satisfy me, what do you mean?

New approach: Creativity is the productive ability that manifests itself in action or thinking. On the one hand, creativity is characterized by novelty and originality. On the other hand, it also relates to solving technical, human or sociopolitical problems. Oh well…

What is possible?

Many people claim that innovation is a crucial element of business livelihood. Therefore, it is important to clarify how companies are to be designed so that creative thinking can develop there. There are examples of companies that have sought and found answers to this question.

Some companies have changed their corporate culture. As a reward, some of them have experienced a creative boost. This has resulted in a number of smaller and larger innovations.

Is creativity really that important?

Creativity is often demanded, rarely promoted. It’s amazing, because creativity is demanded in many places, and actually promoted in a few places. Is creativity really the magic weapon? Are there any advantages or does creativity in companies also have a dark side? Where there is light, there are often shadows. More about this topic can be found in the article about creativity and economic success.
