Business Coaching, Executive Sparring & High-Stakes Communication

Focused one-to-one support for professional development, consequential leadership situations, and communication that matters.

Different challenges call for different forms of support.

Sometimes you want to develop a capability.

Sometimes you already carry substantial responsibility and need an independent perspective on a consequential situation.

And sometimes one specific conversation, negotiation, presentation, or appearance deserves particularly careful preparation.

My work is therefore organized into three main areas:

  • Business Coaching
  • Executive Sparring
  • High-Stakes Communication

All three are individual one-to-one formats.

All begin with your real professional situation.

The difference lies in what you need and what is at stake.

Business Coaching

Develop Your Professional Capabilities

Business Coaching is primarily about development.

It is suitable for professionals, specialists, managers, and leaders who want to become more effective in a particular professional area.

You may want to:

  • develop your leadership skills
  • communicate more clearly
  • handle difficult conversations more effectively
  • improve your presentation skills
  • strengthen your negotiation skills
  • make better professional decisions
  • increase your professional visibility
  • prepare for a new role
  • navigate a career transition

We work directly with situations from your professional life.

The emphasis is practical.

You develop greater clarity, stronger communication, and approaches you can use in your actual work.

The central question is:

Which capabilities would help you become more effective in your professional role?

Executive Sparring

Think Clearly When Responsibility and Consequences Are Greater

Executive Sparring is primarily designed for managing directors, business owners, C-level executives, and senior leaders carrying substantial responsibility.

At this level, the challenge is often less about learning another general technique.

The challenge is the specific situation in front of you.

A strategic decision.

A management conflict.

A difficult shareholder relationship.

An organizational change.

A consequential negotiation.

A leadership transition.

Several legitimate interests may compete.

The available information may be incomplete.

And responsibility for the decision remains with you.

Executive Sparring gives you a confidential setting to examine the situation with an experienced independent counterpart.

We may:

  • clarify what is actually happening
  • question assumptions
  • examine competing interests
  • change perspectives
  • identify contradictions and blind spots
  • test options and scenarios
  • prepare important decisions
  • develop communication strategies
  • prepare your next move

The central question is:

How do you think, decide, and act well in this particular situation?

→ Explore Executive Sparring

High-Stakes Communication

Prepare for a Specific Communication Situation That Matters

High-Stakes Communication is for situations where an important conversation, negotiation, presentation, speech, pitch, or appearance is already ahead.

For example:

  • a board presentation
  • an important negotiation
  • a difficult leadership conversation
  • a major client meeting
  • a shareholder meeting
  • a pitch
  • a keynote
  • a media interview

We work directly with the actual situation.

Your objective.

Your audience or counterpart.

The interests involved.

Your message.

Your arguments.

Likely objections.

Critical questions.

And the way you want to respond under pressure.

The central question is:

How can you prepare so that you remain clear and responsive when the moment arrives?

→ Explore High-Stakes Communication

Which Format Fits Your Situation?

The distinction becomes easier when you look at the primary purpose of the work.

Business Coaching

You want to develop.

You want to strengthen a professional capability or become better prepared for recurring business situations.

Executive Sparring

You need to decide or act in a consequential situation.

You already carry substantial responsibility and want an independent perspective before taking the next step.

High-Stakes Communication

You have a specific communication situation ahead.

You want to prepare an important conversation, negotiation, presentation, speech, pitch, or appearance.

Three Examples

Example 1

You want to become more confident and concise in management meetings.

Business Coaching.

Example 2

You are a managing director deciding how to respond to an escalating conflict within the executive team.

Executive Sparring.

Example 3

You will present a strategic recommendation to the board next week and expect critical questions.

High-Stakes Communication.

The categories can overlap.

A broader Executive Sparring issue may lead directly into communication preparation.

A Business Coaching topic may become more consequential as your responsibility grows.

You do not need to categorize your situation perfectly before contacting me.

Describe the situation. I will recommend the appropriate format.

→ High-Stakes Communication

Decisions

Professional decisions become difficult when several reasonable considerations compete.

Opportunity and risk.

Speed and quality.

Short-term pressure and long-term consequences.

Personal judgment and stakeholder expectations.

Depending on the level of responsibility, decision-making can be part of Business Coaching or Executive Sparring.

For developmental decision-making skills, Business Coaching is usually appropriate.

For consequential decisions connected to senior responsibility, Executive Sparring is generally the stronger fit.

Leadership

Leadership issues can also appear at different levels.

You may want to develop clearer feedback, delegation, communication, or leadership habits.

That belongs naturally in Business Coaching.

Or you may be dealing with a management conflict, major restructuring, difficult stakeholder constellation, or consequential leadership decision.

That is more likely to belong in Executive Sparring.

The topic may sound similar. The level of responsibility and consequence changes the work.

Presentations and Public Speaking

Presentation work follows the same logic.

If your goal is to become a stronger presenter in general, Business Coaching is a good fit.

If one particular presentation has significant consequences, High-Stakes Communication is usually more appropriate.

For example:

A regular internal presentation:

Business Coaching.

A strategic board presentation connected to a major decision:

High-Stakes Communication.

The subject may be similar.

The stakes change the preparation.

Executive Presence

Executive presence develops through clarity, communication, judgment, behavior, and the way you respond under pressure.

It can be approached from two directions.

As a developmental objective, it may be part of Business Coaching.

For managing directors, C-level executives, and senior leaders whose role already carries substantial responsibility, it often becomes part of Executive Sparring.

Again, the deciding factor is context rather than terminology.

Difficult Professional Relationships

Some professional relationships become unusually demanding.

A colleague repeatedly crosses boundaries.

A business partner ignores agreements.

A senior stakeholder creates pressure.

A fellow executive shifts responsibility.

The appropriate format depends on what is at stake.

A communication or boundary-setting skill may fit Business Coaching.

A relationship that carries significant business or organizational consequences is more likely to belong in Executive Sparring.

In both cases, I focus on observable behavior, your options, your communication, and your ability to act.

How I Work

My work is individual and situation-based.

I do not start with a standardized program.

We begin with your actual situation and the outcome you want.

Depending on the objective, our work may include:

  • reflection and analysis
  • coaching
  • strategic sparring
  • decision preparation
  • communication strategy
  • role-play
  • rehearsal
  • presentation feedback
  • scenario work
  • candid feedback

The method follows the objective.

An Independent Perspective

Professional responsibility can make independent feedback harder to find.

Colleagues may have their own interests.

Employees may hesitate to disagree.

Business partners may see the situation differently.

People close to you may want to support you and therefore avoid challenging your assumptions.

An external coach or sparring partner has a different role.

I can listen without being part of the internal politics.

I can ask uncomfortable questions.

I can challenge an argument.

I can take another stakeholder’s perspective.

And I can give you candid feedback when that is useful.

My Professional Background

My professional background combines several perspectives.

I studied engineering and industrial engineering.

I have worked in management, business consulting, and marketing.

For more than 25 years, my work has also focused on coaching, professional communication, psychology, presentations, and human behavior.

This combination matters because real professional situations rarely belong to a single discipline.

A decision may involve strategy and psychology.

A negotiation may involve interests, language, and power.

A presentation may require analytical clarity, audience understanding, and personal presence.

A leadership conflict may contain organizational and interpersonal dimensions at the same time.

We use the perspectives that help you understand the situation and prepare your next step.

One-to-One Work

My main focus is individual work.

This allows us to concentrate fully on your role, situation, objectives, and professional context.

You may come with one clearly defined issue.

Or you may bring a situation that initially feels difficult to sort.

Both are appropriate starting points.

In Person in Berlin

Sessions are available at my office in Berlin.

In-person work can be especially useful for:

  • intensive coaching
  • Executive Sparring
  • presentation preparation
  • role-play
  • voice and body language
  • executive presence

Online

Online sessions work particularly well for:

  • Business Coaching
  • Executive Sparring
  • decision-making
  • leadership situations
  • negotiation preparation
  • difficult conversations
  • presentation review
  • ongoing collaboration

They also make focused work easier to integrate into demanding professional schedules.

Selected Corporate Assignments

My primary focus is individual one-to-one work.

I also accept selected corporate assignments when the topic, format, and objective are a strong fit.

These may include:

  • leadership communication
  • executive communication
  • presentation and public-speaking preparation
  • negotiation and conversation skills
  • preparation for specific professional situations

The scope is agreed individually.

SIGNATURE 12

SIGNATURE 12 is my ongoing Executive Sparring format for executives and business owners who value continuity.

Instead of beginning from zero with each new situation, we build shared context over twelve months.

A strategic decision today.

A negotiation next month.

Later a leadership conflict, transition, presentation, or another consequential situation.

The topics change.

The context carries forward.

SIGNATURE 12 is exclusively positioned as an Executive Sparring relationship.

Your First Session

The first appointment is already a working session.

We begin directly with the situation you want to address.

At the start, we clarify:

  • What is happening?
  • What would you like to achieve?
  • Who is involved?
  • What is your role?
  • What is at stake?
  • What lies ahead?

Then we work directly with the issue.

This allows you to experience my approach while already making progress.

Which Service Should You Choose?

If you already know which format fits, choose the corresponding service.

If you are uncertain, you can simply describe your situation.

You do not need to diagnose your own coaching need.

Tell me:

  • your role
  • what is happening
  • what you want to achieve
  • what is at stake
  • whether there is an important date or deadline

I will recommend the appropriate format.

The situation determines the work.
