You Already Know What’s Most Important

Sometimes we can't see the wood for the trees.
In other words; the solution is so close and obvious that we can't see it.
Let's remind you what you should do in such cases.

Take out a sheet of paper and write down the numbers 1 to 10.
Make a list of 10 to-do items, each of which would help your career, business or private life substantially.
These items can be simple or complex.

Don’t spend a lot of time deliberating about your choices.
Just write whatever comes to mind.

When you've finished, review your list.
Each item is important, but one will stand out.
Trust your gut feeling!
One will make a bigger difference in your life than the others.
Don’t deliberate here, either.
Call upon your intuition, snap judgment, common sense, gut feeling, subconscious or whatever you want to call it.

Find the most important one and mark it.

Now begin working on that highlighted item.

You already know what needs to be done.
You made a list, studied it, and decided which item you get the most from if you complete it.
You don’t need additional motivation.
The result you achieve from taking action will be reward enough.

We tend to complicate life, particularly in business.
We rarely believe that certain things can be simple.
But when we listen to our inner voice we often already know what to do.
We don’t need a lot of sophisticated management theory to figure out what to do.
We already have good answers in our - sometimes subconscious - mind.
The essential step is getting them out and here the right amount of external support can be helpful, like coaching for example.

Some clients discover what’s most important, but still don't think they know how to start work on it.
They may not realize it, or they may be scared to admit it, but they have the answers.

Than it is my job to help clients to think clearly, and to get them to discuss their issues with precision.
I help them get the possibilities out of their unconscious and onto paper, where they can act on them.
Together we clear the junk out of the way so that they can access the knowledge and wisdom that they already possess.

You have this knowledge and wisdom.
You have good answers at this very moment.
You know what to do.
So just do it!
