Positioning is Essential

Your positioning demonstrates to your audience what you stand for.

The question is not whether your target market perceives you as having a position but whether their perception accurately matches your real position.

Unless people have never heard of your business category or never heard of your business, they will place you at some spot on their perceptual map in relation to competitors.
People tend to form their opinions early and hold them for a long time, so it pays to clearly establish the best position you can early in the development of your category or early in the introduction of your company.
First impressions are lasting impressions.
However, it is not the first company with a product that gets to be the market leader; it is the first company that is perceived by the most people
to be the market leader.
This is the reason for the advantage of being the first.
You remember probably the name of the first man on the moon.
It was Neil Armstrong.
Some people can also name the second, but how about the third, fourth or fifth, the sixth, seventh, eights?

The same mental principle applies to brands.
The first one into the most hearts and minds wins.

How to know where to position yourself and your offer?
It’s all about perception and how you fit in, especially when compared to the other perceptions that already exist.
The brand you create should be based on who you truly are as a human being. It should reflect your real skills and personality.
Faking it doesn’t work.

You and your offer are both unique - so let your target group know it!!
