You Found a Gap in the Market and Now You Want to Fill It?

Do you know the saying: "Millions saw the apple fall, but Newton was the one who asked why."

The dream of a lot of entrepreneurs is it to invent something totally new.
Or even a solution to a problem that no one has been able to resolve until now.
So in this case there is a huge demand for the solution and no competition.

Retrospectively some of the most successful business ideas are so obvious that some of us could have had the same idea - or even did have them but didn't follow the path to realize them.
Is it only a question of being attentive, fast and consistent?

In my profession I regularly meet people who want to go into business because they have noticed a gap in the market.
They plan to fill the niche.

I learned that finding a gap isn't enough to consider it is a project worth investing in.
Sometimes the gap is there for a good reason.

Maybe others tried selling in this area without success.
In other words, there may be a gap in the market because there isn't a market in the gap - or the market isn't ready for it yet!
Or the people like the product but they are not willing to pay adequately for it.
Remember that there is difference between what the people need and want. Marketing has to be directed at what people want not what they need.

Don't make the assumptions that finding a gap is enough.
Investigate carefully
!
If others have tried the same business and not made it, talk to them and find out why.
If necessary offer them something in exchange for their support.
They might tell you something which you have missed, or couldn't possibly have considered.
This way you can save a lot of time and money.

Maybe others didn't succeed because their product or service wasn't as good as yours is now.

Either way, with some investigation you will be far more informed and prepared.

To assure you don't flatter yourself have a session with a professional conversation partner.
