• Seeing the long-term consequences clearly

• Being focused on the right priorities

• Knowledge about the subject

• Good sense about the attitudes and motivation of the involved people

Perhaps the most important skill is the ability to ask the right question in the right way.
What are the key questions and how to ensure effective answers?

This isn’t about a agglomeration of reams of questions.
It is about the question that go to the core of the matter that bring clarity to the consideration of the following steps.
It is  the responsibility for a leader to be able to ask the key questions and it is also the ability to encourage this skill within the group of people involved in a decision or using an outside independent person effectively to provide a source of impartial thoughtful questioning.
